Leaving a legacy to Meniere's & Vestibular UK is a lasting gift to a cause that is important to you during your lifetime.

How will my Gift be used by Meniere's & Vestibular UK?

Not only will you help us with carrying out our day to day work, your gift can also help us plans for the future of Meniere's & Vestibular UK. In the past, larger legacies have enabled us to support research projects which we would not have been able to do otherwise.

If you choose to leave a gift in your will to Meniere's & Vestibular UK, you may also choose to stipulate how you’d like us to use your gift. Perhaps you’d like it to be for the general use of the charity, which can be applied to the most needed area at the time. Alternatively, you may wish your gift to be reserved specifically for research projects. Whatever your preference, your gift will assist the charity in the work we do and the services we provide to members.

Inheritance Tax

One important aspect of leaving a gift to Charity under a Will is often overlooked. Such charitable gifts are potentially exempt from Inheritance Tax. If a person’s Estate is subject to Inheritance Tax the value of the gift will reduce the Inheritance Tax bill. For example the sums of £1000 or £10,000 are likely to attract Inheritance Tax relief amounting to £400 and £4000 respectively.

Adding a Legacy to your Will

To leave a legacy to Meniere's & Vestibular UK you would need to include details in your will or include a Codicil with your existing will. A solicitor could handle this and/or provide further information. When including the details of your bequest in your will/codicil, please include our registered charity number. This will ensure that there is no confusion about the charity you would like to receive your gift. Meniere's & Vestibular UK's registered charity number is 297246.
